1. You love the idea of a new neighborhood.

When looking for a new home, there are two main things to consider: the house, of course, and the location. Unfortunately, finding your dream home conveniently located in your dream neighborhood is easier said than done.

Deciding to build a new home, however, means that you can focus first on finding a neighborhood that you love and then on building your perfect home there.

So, if you find yourself living in a home that you love but the neighborhood isn’t quite to your liking, don’t settle. You should have both.

In fact, if the idea of living in a different, new neighborhood excites you, that is a sign that you are ready to build a new home.

2. You hate surprises.

In an older home, there is always the potential for something to go wrong. For instance, you discover a problem with the electrical wiring. There is mold in the bathroom. The furnace needs to be replaced. The tile has cracked in the kitchen.
